Lazise is located on the south-east coast of Lake Garda, in the province of Verona, and is only 1 km away from Camping La Quercia.
It is one of the major attractions at the lake, with thousands of visitors from all over the world coming every year.
Founded by the ancient Romans, the name derives from the Latin word Lasitium, and then Laceses, which means place at the lake. Later on, it enjoyed a very prosperous period during the Middle Ages, establishing itself as the first free municipality around Lake Garda and becoming one of the richest commercial centres in the area.
The most significant monuments are the Scaligero Castle, the church of San Nicolò and the Dogana Veneta, now used for conferences, important events and weddings.
